The IRB is offering a training session on NIH proposal submissions and IRB requirements from 1-2 p.m. in the Nebraska Union, 1400 R St., Platte River Room (formerly known as Colonial Rooms A and B). Register in advance at https://research.unl.edu/events/event2.php?eventID=4146 Snacks will be provided. Topics to be covered include:

- The requirements for IRB approval when submitting grant proposals to the NIH.
- Specific IRB information that needs to be included in the grant proposal.
- Tips and tricks from Office of Proposal Development staff.
- Advice and experiences with NIH submissions and NIH-funded research from a panel of UNL researchers, including:
- Andy Benson, W.W. Marshall Distinguished Professor of biotechnology, professor of food science and technology, and director of the Nebraska Food for Health Center.
- David DiLillo, professor of psychology.
- Katie Edwards, associate professor in the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools.
- Jacques Izard, associate professor of food science and technology.
