Studying abroad is a transformational journey. It is riddled with stories that are exciting to share and that work to empower others in Lincoln and around the world. As wisely shared by Chimamanda Adichie, “Many stories matter. Stories have been used to dispose and to malign. But stories can also be used to empower, and to humanize.”

Please join WHT scholars who have studied abroad on Tuesday, November 12 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Nebraska Union, Regency B-C, to learn more about their transformational experiences—where they went, how they paid for it, what they did, and how they have changed. The workshop is titled, “Where there’s a *WHEEL* there’s a way.” In this workshop, we hope to unmask the study abroad experience by speaking to each of the nine dimensions of well-being* (i.e., career, cultural, environmental, emotional, financial, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual) as they are key to a successful study abroad experience!

Whether you are just beginning to consider a trip abroad, have been accepted into a program, or have bought your plane tickets and are packing your bags, this workshop is a chance to learn something new. So, please come, hear their stories, ask questions, and engage in deep conversation. We look forward to talking with you more! This event will count as both a Life Skills and an Academic event. To attend, please RSVP to Mrs. Kari Eller keller2@unl.edu by Wednesday, November 6 (if you miss the deadline, please email me directly).
