Join us in a discussion about contemporary labor trafficking with Sriyani Tidball, author of The Breadwinner: Stories of Women Forced into Modern Day Slavery and Trafficking” and the 2020 Forsythe Family Program on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs Practitioner-in-Residence.

Tidball, an advocate for peace, justice and human rights, as well as a college professor in the USA and founder of two nonprofits, showcases stories of slavery of Sri Lankan housemaids in the Middle East. In her talk for the summit, she exposes the heart-breaking stories of marginalized women who have spent years working as housemaids in the Middle East and were subjected to abysmal, inhumane working conditions, sexual violence, and human rights abuses.
