Human population growth may be controversial to talk about, but the science doesn’t lie: our growing population is taking a toll on species and the environment. Peer-reviewed studies demonstrate the effects seen on the climate, ecosystems, and biodiversity. While the population is still growing, the rate at which we’re growing is slowing, and the media often portrays lower fertility rates as a bad thing that threatens economic and societal collapse. Join Sarah Baillie, Population & Sustainability Organizer at the Center for Biological Diversity, to learn more about the connection between contraception and conservation and how population decline can be seen as an opportunity to adapt and improve quality of life for everyone.
