Blixt Locally Grown will present a live performance of Every Brilliant Thing, a one-person show written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe. Every Brilliant Thing takes a personal approach to a complex and relevant topic: mental health. The one-time performance will be held at 7 PM on Saturday, May 29th at The Mill Coffee & Bistro at Nebraska Innovation Campus and is produced by Crane River Theater Company, a renowned regional theatre located in Kearney, Nebraska. This show is made possible by the generous support of the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition. A panel discussion will immediately follow this production and resources will be available onsite for audience members.

Every Brilliant Thing tells the story of a child who decides to create a list of all the thing that make life worth living - like shooting milk out of your nose - so that his mother doesn’t try to leave the world again. As the son grows and experiences more life, love, and loss, his list of goodness grows longer. Heart-wrenching and hilarious, Every Brilliant Thing approaches a challenging journey with warmth, humanity, and enduring hope. It’s a play about depression, and the amazing lengths we will go to for those we love.

Every Brilliant Thing features actor Andy Harvey and is directed by Steve Barth, Executive Artistic Director of Crane River Theater Company. The post-show panel discussion and Q&A will allow space to reflect with representatives from the following organizations: Bryan Health, Veterans Affairs, Mourning Hope Grief Center, the LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) team, and the Nebraska State Suicide Prevention Coalition.

Ticket pricing: $20 ticket only or $32 ticket + appetizer + drink.
