Fire protection is a broad and complex field that encompasses many different topics, including fire science, fire safety engineering, fire alarm, detection & suppression systems, fire codes & standards, fire investigation, and fire prevention. Fire protection professionals work in a wide range of industries to design, implement, and maintain fire protection systems, and to prevent and investigate fires. This presentation will provide an overview of fire protection technologies and discuss the opportunities available in fire protection engineering. The presentation will cover the following topics:
• Standard and special hazard fire protection technologies and how they work
• Latest challenges in fire protection technology
• Role of fire protection engineers in designing, implementing, and maintaining fire protection systems
