This Cedric Evans Memorial Lecture, co-sponsored by the Cedric Evans Memorial Lectureship Fund and the UNL Convocations Committee, presented by Matt McGrath from Washington University in St. Louis, explores a fundamental question in epistemology: It is on whether it’s ever true that we epistemically should believe things, or instead as far as epistemology is concern, there are only things we are ok to believe and things which we should not believe. This lecture will examine how this question relates to contemporary social and political issues, shaping our understanding of knowledge, truth, and rational belief.
