University Libraries has coordinated with Campus Recreation to bring this Naloxone training to our faculty and staff. This training is completely optional. Interested faculty and staff can choose to sign-up and attend if they would like to know more about Naloxone and how to administer it.

Naloxone (Narcan) is a life-saving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses. Campus Recreation’s Alcohol and Other Drug Education Unit will join us in the Libraries for an optional comprehensive training on how to administer and distribute Naloxone to individuals experiencing an opioid overdose. This training is a collaboration between Campus Recreation, the University Health Center, and Nebraska Pharmacy Association.

The training will provide an overview and detailed instructions on Naloxone administration. This will help our faculty and staff to be prepared to help prevent opioid overdoses.

*Naloxone is the proper generic name for the brand name product Narcan. These terms are used interchangeably.
