The Nebraska Statewide Arboretum (NSA) invites guests to its annual Plants & Pints fundraiser, an evening of conversation and connection on Tuesday, October 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Glacial Till Cider House and Tasting Room (1419 Silver St.) in Ashland.

The event will feature Lauritzen Gardens Director of Conservation (and former NSA executive director) Jim Locklear, who will speak about his recently released book, “In the Country of the Kaw: A Personal Natural History of the Great Plains.” Locklear will also be available to sign copies of his book.

Tickets for Plants & Pints are $25 for NSA members and $30 for non-members. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be open. Proceeds from ticket purchases will support NSA’s tree planting, garden making and environmental education throughout Nebraska. Register at plantnebraska.org/plants-pints (21 and older only).

An option to purchase a copy of “In the Country of the Kaw” at the discounted price of $25 (retail price is $34.99) with an event ticket purchase is available. NSA will bring copies of the purchased books to the October 22 event. The book purchase option is only available until September 29; a very limited supply of books will be available for purchase at the event.
