Leila Wood, Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) McGovern Medical School and Director of Research and Evaluation at the Center for Violence Prevention, will present “Addressing the Economic and Health Impacts of Intimate Partner Violence” at our April Health Equity Grand Rounds event.
Dr. Wood will present on how Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) impacts health outcomes and economic stability for survivors, while also addressing how health and economic needs can help to prevent IPV re-victimization. In this presentation, research on community-based economic and health strategies will be shared, along with implementation strategies.
Dr. Wood’s research is focused on intervention development and testing, program evaluation, longitudinal, and community-based methods. She is a mixed methods researcher and social work practitioner.
