Dr. Ruiz-Narváez is an Associate Professor of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He is co-investigator of the Black Women’s Health Study, an ongoing prospective cohort of 59,000 African American women from across the United States. Dr. Ruiz-Narváez is particularly interested in the genetic basis of different diseases/phenotypes such as breast cancer, obesity, low birth weight and type 2 diabetes, with a particular emphasis in minority populations.
