Garth Greenwell appears as part of the celebration of 50 Years of LGBTQ Studies at UNL, recognizing UNL’s pioneering role in the development of queer studies nationwide.

Garth, whose novel CLEANNESS was one of the most acclaimed literary works of 2020, will read from his fiction. The New York Times called CLEANNESS “incandescent” and noted that Greenwell “has an uncanny gift, one that comes along rarely.” Harper’s magazine said the novel is an “electrifying portrait of sex’s power to lacerate and liberate, to make and unmake our deepest selves …” He lives in Iowa City.
