Institutional Equity and Compliance (IEC) will host this NCLUDE Networking session. In this session we’ll unpack the story of Tom and Jerry—a case study that shines a light on the complexities of workplace relationships and how the Sexual Misconduct Policy applies in real-world situations. Together, we’ll explore what happens when professional boundaries blur, and walk step-by-step through the Institutional Equity and Compliance (IEC) processes, resources, and supports available. By the end of the session, attendees will have a clearer understanding of IEC’s role at UNL, reporting procedures, and resources available.
NCLUDE traditionally brings small groups together for six in-depth meetings over a semester, the new NCLUDE Networking Sessions are designed for those who may not have the availability for a long-term commitment but are still eager to build connections and learn from colleagues across campus.
Each 90-minute session will feature a unique blend of learning and connection:
1. Informal Welcome (15 minutes): A chance to grab a refreshment and casually greet fellow attendees.
2. Microlesson (15 minutes): A different university department will lead a concise, engaging presentation on a topic within their area of expertise. These microlessons are crafted to spark thought and conversation, aligning with NCLUDE’s mission to leverage diverse voices and promote a cognitive shift toward community building.
3. Speed Networking (1 hour): Get ready to connect! This interactive segment, similar to “speed dating,” will provide participants with five opportunities to engage in focused, one-on-one conversations. Attendees will respond to pre-determined prompts related to the microlesson and broader themes of campus community, ensuring meaningful interactions and new connections.
