The Sheldon Museum of Art will host this NCLUDE Networking session. Explore how art can bring people together. This session will focus on several instructional prompts or “event scores” from the exhibition “Ken Friedman: 92 Events,” on view at Sheldon Museum of Art through December 31. Participants will flex their creative muscles to realize these event scores and, in the process, laugh, think, and connect with each other.
On Friday, December 5, Sheldon and University Dining Service are realizing the event score “Twenty Gallons,” which reads, “Cook soup for several hundred people.” Enjoy a free bowl of soup in Sheldon’s Great Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The soup will also be served in Campus Dining Centers.

NCLUDE traditionally brings small groups together for six in-depth meetings over a semester, the new NCLUDE Networking Sessions are designed for those who may not have the availability for a long-term commitment but are still eager to build connections and learn from colleagues across campus.
Each 90-minute session will feature a unique blend of learning and connection:
1. Informal Welcome (15 minutes): A chance to grab a refreshment and casually greet fellow attendees.
2. Microlesson (15 minutes): A different university department will lead a concise, engaging presentation on a topic within their area of expertise. These microlessons are crafted to spark thought and conversation, aligning with NCLUDE’s mission to leverage diverse voices and promote a cognitive shift toward community building.
3. Speed Networking (1 hour): Get ready to connect! This interactive segment, similar to “speed dating,” will provide participants with five opportunities to engage in focused, one-on-one conversations. Attendees will respond to pre-determined prompts related to the microlesson and broader themes of campus community, ensuring meaningful interactions and new connections.
