The Center for Transformative Teaching will host this NCLUDE Networking session. We are all teachers from time to time. In this microlesson, you’ll learn what instructional designers do, and we’ll show you a process you can use in your home, office, or classroom next time you want to teach anyone anything!
Description
The mission of the Center for Transformative Teaching is to collaborate with educators across departments and programs to promote evidence-based, inclusive, innovative, and effective teaching for all learners.
These principles, however, are not just useful in the college classroom. They can be used in the office and at home – really any time someone wants to teach others. We’ll go through the backward design process that our instructional designers use with faculty, but in a fun way that can be applied to many different situations – from teaching a child to ride a bike, to planning training for a new colleague, to planning a classroom lesson.
NCLUDE traditionally brings small groups together for six in-depth meetings over a semester, the new NCLUDE Networking Sessions are designed for those who may not have the availability for a long-term commitment but are still eager to build connections and learn from colleagues across campus.
Each 90-minute session will feature a unique blend of learning and connection.
