Take a trip to Kansas City on Friday, Jan 12, with the OLLI Wood Interest Group to learn about heirloom quality woodworking tools.
Lie-Nielsen Toolworks produces heirloom quality woodworking tools based on discontinued and sought-after examples formerly manufactured by Stanley and others. The full line of Lie-Nielsen hand tools (www.lie-nielsen.com) will be available for inspection and to try during its January 12-13 “Hand Tool Event.”
More than providing opportunity for purchases, company staff members will demonstrate hands-on applications; set-up and adjustment procedures; and iron and chisel sharpening techniques. The Kansas City Woodworkers’ Guild will host the free event.
Plans to attend the January 12 “Hand Tool Event” begin with the OLLI woodworkers meeting at 8 a.m. that day in the parking lot at Stauffer’s Cafe and Pie Shoppe, 5600 South 48 St.
After distribution of maps, participants will car-pool to and from Kansas City. Following attendance at the “Hand Tool Event,” they will return to Lincoln later the same day.
