The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, also known as OLLI at UNL, will host a free open house Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the downtown Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, 333 S. 13th St. The institute’s courses, symposia, events and travel opportunities are designed specifically for people age 50 years plus. There are no tests and no grades.
“OLLI is all about joy in learning,” said Dee Aguilar, OLLI Coordinator. “Through OLLI, people can try new hobbies, listen to instructors give great lectures, take trips that are educational and fun and join others for theater performances, dinners and discussions,” she said.
OLLI offers more than 150 courses and events each year. Winter term 3 classes begin on Monday, Jan 22. OLLI and its partners will be hosting informational tables with representatives to provide details about courses, events and travel opportunities, join or renew a membership.
A mid-year membership is $50 and is valid through July 31. Members can enjoy all that OLLI has to offer and receive discounts from its partners to local theaters and community events. There are also a dozen interest groups in which members can participate free of charge.
