The November meeting of the OLLI Baseball Interest Group will be held at 3 p.m, on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Stauffer’s Cafe & Pie Shoppe, 5600 S. 48th Street.

All OLLI baseball fans are welcome to participate. There is no need to register — just come to Stauffer’s, enjoy and piece of pie and join in!

Topics we’ll be discussing in November will include:

• The Washington Nationals, a wild-card team, won the World Series! The visiting team won all seven games of this year’s World Series. What are your memories and reactions to the Nationals becoming world champions?

• Lots of new managers for the 2020 season have already been named. What do you think about: Los Angeles Angels = Joe Madden, Chicago Cubs = David Ross, Kansas City Royals = Mike Matheny, Philadelphia Phillies = Joe Girardi, New York Mets = Carlos Beltran, and others?

• Washington Nationals closer Daniel Hudson skipped the first game of the National League Championship Series to attend the birth of his third daughter. He took some criticism from some sports writers for his decision. What’s your opinion — did he do the right thing?

• Lots of “free agents” this off-season! Where do you they will sign — Garrit Cole, Anthony Rendon, Stephen Strasburg, Madison Bumgarner, Josh Donaldson, and many others?

• The coroner’s report on Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs who was found dead in his motel room in July revealed illegal opioids and an an investigation has revealed he was being supplied by a team employee. How much trouble are the Angels in over this situation?

Those are just some of the topics we’ll be talking about this month.
