The International Affairs Discussion group will meet on Wednesday, Dec 4, 3 p.m., at Stauffer’s Café & Pie Shoppe, 5600 S. 48th St. Dave Forsythe, professor emeritus in Political Science at UNL, will talk about and then lead a discussion on the global humanitarian crisis.
Why are so many people in need of international assistance and protection today, and who is doing what about this massive problem?
How did this problem arise and what is the role of states, the UN, the International Red Cross, local and international non-governmental organizations, and others?
What are the prospects for getting this problem under control?
