Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the author of Bite by Bite: Nourishments & Jamborees and the best-selling illustrated collection of nature essays, World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks & Other Astonishments. She also wrote four poetry collections and co-wrote Lace & Pyrite with Ross Gay. Honors include a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and a Guggenheim Fellowship. She is professor of English and Creative Writing in the University of Mississippi’s MFA program.
Taking a cue from Mary Oliver’s poem, “The Summer Day,” we will look to the outdoors for observation and inspiration. We will walk through fun and fresh looks at poetic forms to record what we see, perfect for both beginning and experienced writers. This will be a generative workshop with tips on how to keep journaling long after the workshop is over.
Co-Sponsors: With Nebraska Writers Collective and Lincoln Parks and Recreation
