In April, we unpacked the legacy of the War on Drugs in the United States and its racialized history and disproportionate impact on people of color and people living in poverty. This month, we will explore how other countries navigate drug use and related health or criminal factors. We will learn how the international community, specifically the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drugs (UNGASS), impacts the national dialogue around drug use. Perhaps, there are some best practices we may be able to incorporate in the American landscape!

If you have any questions or comments beforehand, please feel free to reach out to Joe Caldwell at jcaldwell4@unl.edu.

Please encourage your colleagues, students, and staff to join us over the lunch hour. Due to precautions surrounding COVID-19, this month we will be live streaming the event using a Zoom meeting room, and we will hold discussions there until 1:00pm.
