Kindness, emotional management, compassion, consideration, and effective communications skills are not natural (or common sense) at any level of professional development. They must be taught, practiced, and encouraged throughout the culture focused on civility. Workplace incivility results in a variety of issues, such as: complaints to HR, lost days of work, increased sick days, employee disengagement, threats of legal action, negative public relations, and damage to the organization’s brand. Let’s talk about how each of us can enhance civility in the workplace.
