Steve Brodner is a leading political caricaturist and satiric commentator in the U.S. His work has appeared in most major publications since the 1970s. He has been a regular contributor to the New Yorker, The Nation, NY Times, LA Times, Esquire, Spy. His career as an art journalist has led him to cover 12 national political conventions, the Farm Crisis of the 1980s, the Bob Dole Campaign of 1996, a climb up Mt. Fuji and to Samso Island, the world’s first green energy community, in Denmark.
He has won most of the major awards in the graphic arts industry, including medals at the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, Communication Arts, Hunter College’s Aronson Medal for Social Justice Journalism, Cooper Union’s St. Gardens Medal etc. He teaches art at the School of the Visual Arts in NY. He currently lives in NY and finds himself busier than ever (for some reason).
