Celebrate the 90th anniversary of historic Japanese friendship ambassador doll, Miss Mie with a homecoming celebration and exhibit opening Sunday, October 1!

This special temporary exhibit marks Miss Mie’s homecoming from a recent visit to the doll’s ‘home’ location, Mie Prefecture in Japan, on the anniversary of the historic “Friendship Doll program”.

Regular Museum Admission | Members attend for free!

12:30-1:30pm – Museum Members-Only Preview
Members are invited to Morrill Hall early to view the exhibit and participate in exclusive members-only activities.

1:30 PM-4:30 PM
Special musical performance by New York based Masayo Ishigure Ensemble and exhibit ribbon cutting.
Paper folding art with origami artist Linda Stephen
Japanese calligraphy with the Global Friends of Japan
Paper doll activity to learn more about the traditional dress and accessories of Miss Mie.
Add notes to the museum’s writing prompt activity “Friendship is…”.
