Cedric Evans Memorial Lecture, “Liberalism and Racial Justice”. Charles Mills, Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, The City University of New York, will discuss how Liberalism in modernity has been shaped by Euro-domination or “racial liberalism,” but a de-racialized liberalism sensitive to racial injustice is nonetheless possible, and desirable. Sponsored by the Departments of Philosophy and Sociology, The Women’s and Gender Studies Program, the Convocations Committee and the Evans Memorial Lectureship Fund.
