Explore Asian Art up close and personal with this FREE EXHIBIT of items from the Lentz collection! Formerly hosted at the Hewitt Place of the Great Plains Museum, Donald and Velma Lentz established the collection to introduce UNL students to all aspects of Asian culture and modes of thought. After closing in 2010, portions of the collection will be on display for limited time only at the Kawasaki Reading Room. Share opening reception with Janet Price, Collection Manager on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 5PM-6:30PM.
Janet Price is a Nebraska native and a 2005 UNL graduate with a MA in the History of Textiles with an emphasis in Quilt Studies. She also holds degrees from Iowa State University: BA in Fashion Merchandising and DePaul University: MA in Liberal Studies. She became collection manager of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum in 2005 and later the Lentz Center for Asian Culture in 2013. Although the museum is now closed, Janet has been instrumental in finding new homes for the Lentz objects in various campus collections and departments.
