Mary Kathryn Nagel is the executive director of the Yale Indigenous Performing Arts Program and a partner at Pipestem Law, P. C. She is a playwright and an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee nation. She works to protect tribal sovereignty and the inherent right of Indian nations to protect women and children from domestic violence and sexual assault.

Public reception is at 6 pm, lecture starts at 7 pm. The event is free and open to the public, thanks to generous contributions from Anne M. Hubbard, M.D., and the Clair M. Hubbard Foundation. This event is sponsored by the University of Nebraska State Museum with The Center for Great Plains Studies and the Great Plains Art Museum.
