This Cooper Conversation will feature a panel of local photographers and storytellers showcasing the beauty and diversity of Nebraska’s ecosystems. Attendees will also tour the Howard G. Buffett Photo Gallery, which currently features an exhibit on conservation. The event topic ties to this year’s E. N. Thompson Forum on World Issues theme, “Lessons from the Natural World” and is hosted in collaboration with Global Affairs. All are welcome to attend!

This conversation will be moderated by Dr. Larkin Powell, Director of the School of Natural Resources and Professor of Conservation Biology/Animal Ecology, and will feature three panelists from Platte Basin Timelapse:

• Dakota Altman, Producer & Instructor
Dakota finds passion through photography as a means to bridge disciplines and cultivate meaningful relationships with the natural world.

• Emma Balunek, Graduate Student
Emma is a graduate student studying the coyote and badger hunting relationship in prairie dog colonies in grasslands across the west.

• Ethan Freese, Producer & Photographer
Ethan is a photographer passionate about prairies and wetlands and he hopes to use photography to show others the value of these under-appreciated ecosystems.

Our guests will share their insights in a panel format and then continue the conversation through Q&A with attendees.

Light refreshments will be served

Please RSVP by Friday, February 7.
