Maps have been entered in the GIS Map Competition from students in various departments including Anthropology, Architecture, College of Arts & Sciences, School of Natural Resource, School of Global Integrative Studies, and the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences.

A panel of judges in the Libraries will select maps for the top two awards and voting is open to all to select the People’s Choice Award winner.

There are two ways to review the maps:

2. Visit Love Library South from Nov 13-17 The maps will be located on the first floor hallways leading to the south entrances (facing R St.)



Join us at the reception on Nov. 17 from 10:30-11:30 am in LLS 221 for the announcement of the first place, second place, and people’s choice winners.

The GIS Day Map Competition was designed to be accessible and inclusive, welcoming participants of all skill levels, including those with no prior GIS experience. This competition was an opportunity for students from any background to engage with data and map-making.
