Great Plains Master Beekeeping welcomes Atreya Manaswi to this month’s Hap-Bee Hour Friday, November 8th, 2024 to discuss Small Hive Beetle Biology and Control.

Atreya Manaswi is a passionate teen researcher, activist, author, and speaker focused on innovation and helping others. With research experience at the US Department of Agriculture, Stanford University, and the University of Florida, he has notably led honey bee conservation efforts since age 12, resulting in the development of BeetleGuardAI, an eco-friendly IoT trap prototype that utilizes machine learning to manage bee pests. As a global public speaker, he has presented at numerous international events supported by organizations like the United Nations, while also engaging with local communities through his children’s book, “The Bee Story,” which raises awareness about pollinators and climate crises. Manaswi is the CEO and Founder of the International Youth STEM Society, a non-profit promoting equitable STEM access, with over 80 officers in 25 countries and significant outreach efforts impacting 1,500+ youth. His work has been featured in prominent media outlets, including Yahoo News and CBS.
