Join Professor Jefferis and other faculty, staff, and students in a reading group to discuss Rising Out of Hatred by Eli Saslow. This book tells the story of how Derek Black, son of the founder of Stormfront and godson of KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, came to question the ideology he helped spread as the proclaimed “heir to the white nationalist movement.” We will meet three times throughout the spring semester to discuss the themes of the book.
Dates are currently set for January 29, February 20, and March 25 over the noon hour. Lunch will be provided for all meetings. The book is available as an ebook through the Lincoln Libraries (free memberships) or for under 10 dollars on Amazon and ThriftBooks.
Details of room, reading assignments, and more to follow.
