With: Aaron Berger, Livestock Systems Educator, Nebraska Extension; and Jay Parsons, Professor and Director, UNL Center for Agricultural Profitability.
With cattle markets at all-time highs, many producers are considering adding value to their operations by increasing pounds sold. High prices bring not only marketing and production opportunities but also higher risk. In this webinar, Nebraska Extension Livestock Educator Aaron Burger and Center for Agricultural Profitability Director Jay Parsons discuss price protection opportunities for cow-calf, stocker, and yearling producers using the Livestock Risk Protection insurance tool available from USDA. The pair will share several examples and discuss key points producers should consider as they make these important decisions.
