Join the Nebraska Invasive Species Council for its monthly meeting. Meetings serve as a forum for the discussion, identification, and understanding of invasive species issues, awareness, and mitigation practices throughout the state. All are welcome to contribute and share their insights on invasives species prevention, control, and management.
If you would like to attend the meeting virtually, please reach out to Shannon Smith, Council Coordinator, at invasives@unl.edu to register and request the virtual meeting link.
March’s meeting will feature a guest presentation from Cody Wagner, Conservation Program Manager for Rowe Sanctuary, discussing invasive plants and their effects on migratory bird habitat along the Platte River. This presentation will include a half mile walk along the sanctuary’s trails to view some management work, so please be sure to dress comfortably for walking around and spending time outdoors.
