DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Farm Bill was extended for another year after it was s
 et to expire in 2023\, and ag producers have another Agriculture Risk Cove
 rage (ARC) versus Price Loss Coverage (PLC) program decision in 2025. Chan
 ging economic conditions\, price projections\, and underlying support leve
 ls for both ARC and PLC in 2025 mean that producers will want to give care
 ful thought to another ARC v. PLC enrollment decision at the USDA Farm Ser
 vice Agency. \n\nThis webinar will provide an update on farm programs deta
 ils and decisions for 2025 and discuss the prospects of further farm bill 
 development in the coming year. Breining will discuss farm program decisio
 ns for 2025 under the Agriculture Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage (A
 RC/PLC) commodity program safety net. Lubben will discuss the economics of
  the ARC v. PLC decision for 2025 and the broader farm bill issues and pro
 spects still ahead. \n\nThe webinar will also include a brief discussion o
 f what could be ahead for economic and disaster assistance payments. The A
 RC/PLC signup period is open through April 15\, 2025.

DESCRIPTION:Nebraska Extension is hosting a Crop Insurance Workshop on Jan.
  30 from 1\:00 p.m. to 2\:00 p.m. at the Box Butte County Extension Office
  in Alliance\, 415 Black Hills Ave. The workshop is aimed at helping farme
 rs better understand crop insurance and how it can protect their operation
 s from unexpected risks.\n\nThe workshop will discuss insurance terms\, pr
 imary components in a crop insurance contract (such as coverage level\, in
 surance type and unit type)\, the importance of endorsements and the philo
 sophy about how to select a crop insurance contract. Additionally\, the wo
 rkshop will cover the common misconceptions about crop insurance such as\:
  \n•	The assumption that the highest subsidy in terms of percent provide
 s the greatest protection\n•	The assumption that risks are the same acro
 ss counties\n•	The idea that insurance decisions should be based on last
  year’s outcome\n\nThe workshop will also discuss how Supplemental Cover
 age Option (SCO) and Enhanced Coverage Option (ECO) work. \n\nThe workshop
  will be led by Regional Economist Jessica Groskopf and Extension Speciali
 st\, Cory Walters. \n\n“We are excited to bring this crucial information
  to the Panahndle\,” said Groskopf. “With unpredictable weather and ma
 rket conditions\, making informed crop insurance enrollment decisions is m

 Profitability and Nebraska Extension will present a workshop in Hastings f
 or farm and ranch landowners\, landlords and tenants who want to learn mor
 e about current trends in farm or ranch real estate\, and best practices f
 or managing or leasing land.\n\n“Big Questions and Innovative Solutions 
 in Land Management” will be held from 1 to 4 p.m.\, Jan. 30\, at the off
 ice of Nebraska Extension in Adams County\, 2975 S. Baltimore Ave.\n\nThe 
 workshop will cover topics related to Nebraska's land industry for farms a
 nd ranches. Those include evaluating current trends in land values and cas
 h rents\, lease provisions and legal considerations\, proper communication
  strategies and considerations for successful land transitions. Workshop p
 articipants will also be able to find answers to common farmland leasing a
 nd land ownership questions. \n\nRefreshments will be provided by Farmers
