From data-driven decision making to data analytics, the influence of data in our lives is growing at an exponential rate. Data has long been the domain of accountants and analysts who use it to track work and spending.
But data can also tell stories. With basic skills, journalists and storytellers can use data to both find and tell compelling stories that enrich our communities. This introductory course will give participants the basic skills necessary to get started with data storytelling. The workshop will cover using Excel for data gathering, organization and management, beginning data analysis and data visualization.
