Park(ing) Day 2015

Date: Time: 9:00 am–4:00 pm
Downtown Lincoln, Neb. on P Street from 11th street to Centennial Mall
Join us for PARK(ing) DAY 2015, where College of Architecture students transform ordinary parking stalls into temporary public places. Students will be exhibiting their installed work in downtown Lincoln, P Street from 11th street to Centennial Mall, a four block span. This is an annual global event where citizens, designer and activists collaborate to temporarily transform parking spots into habitable spaces.

The event began in 2005 when Rebar, a San Francisco art and design studio, converted a single metered parking stall into a temporary public park. This project is directed by instructor Peter Olshavsky and sponsored by AIA Lincoln.
This event was originally scheduled for Sept. 18th and is now planned for Sept. 21st.
