Adventures on the Niobrara River - Discover Landscape Architecture

Niobrara River, July 22– July 25, 2018

This three and a half day camp provides high school students with a unique experience to explore and discover the design profession of Landscape Architecture in the outdoor classroom we call the Niobrara River. The Niobrara River is Nebraska’s only designated Wild and Scenic Riverway. The convergence of the boreal forest and the Great Plains provides an awe inspiring backdrop for any camper. While paddling down river, students will learn about some of the many native plants and trees that line the rolling riverbanks. Campers will also have the opportunity to explore some amazing waterfalls and learn how Landscape Architects have played an important role in the design and management of Nebraska’s parks. After a long day of exploration and learning, students will enjoy fireside meals and camping in the great outdoors.
