Bassem Yousri is a visual artist, filmmaker and art educator. He relies on humor and sarcasm as a tool that can reach different audiences from diverse cultures, which allows him to criticize common stereotypes and taboos. Yousri’s work investigates issues related to the relationship between form and representation in the context of the exhibition space and public space.

The Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to the University of Nebraska; enhancing the education of our students and enriching the culture of the state by providing a way for the public to interact with luminaries in the fields of art, art history and design. All lectures in this series are free and open to the public.

Additional Public Info:
Public parking is available in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage, which is located caddy-corner to Richards Hall and west of Memorial Stadium. Please check our website for updates: https://arts.unl.edu/art.
