Dr. Tina Iverson, associate professor of pharmacology and biochemistry, Vanderbilt University, will be presenting the seminar entitled “Identifying new role for an ancient respiratory proteins.”
Respiratory Complex II has been studied for well over 100 years, and yet major aspects of its role in cells are still being discovered. In recent work, we have focused on the structural basis for protein-protein interactions between Complex II and several newly-identified protein interaction partners. These studies suggest how bioenergetic complexes may have multifunctional roles beyond respiration.
