Information about 55th Contracting Squadron:
The 55th Contracting Squadron provides acquisition support on services, construction, and supplies for the 55th Wing and 50 associate units including United States Strategic Command and 557th Weather Wing. The squadron is comprised of a command section, a contingency deployment cell and five flights: Services, Construction Commodities, Specialized, and Plans and Programs.
The squadron performs as a business advisor to customers on mission requirements. It maintains worldwide contingency contracting capability in support of national taskings. Ensures legal contractual compliance and promotes positive small business opportunities. The total amount awarded for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2018, was over $405 million. $69 million in Small Business prime contracts and $92 million in Small Business sub-contracts were awarded. Expenditures through the use of the Government Purchase Card (GPC) were $19 million.
