African poet and playwright Patron Henekou will read from his work. Henekou is the author of the play “Dovlo, or a Worthless Sweat” and a book of poetry (in French), “Souffles D’Outre-Coeur.” He teaches English at University of Lomé, where he also serves as one of the organizers of the university’s Literature and Arts Festival.
In this interview, Henekou discusses writing in English and French, translation, art in reaction to politics, and the connections between poetry and song: http://paulselorm.blogspot.com/2016/09/a-special-book-reading-by-patron-henekou.html.
