Glenn Korff School of Music Soprano Jamie Reimer and pianist Stacie Haneline present “She Persisted,” a recital of art songs and spirituals by living American female composers. Not to be confused with the current political movement of the same name, the program recognizes that all human beings must choose to persist – in relationships, in careers, and in the minutiae of everyday life. Join them for a journey of faith, love, and persistence.
Soprano Jamie Reimer, DMA, assistant professor of voice at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, has performed in opera, oratorio and recital venues around the United States, Italy, Germany, Brazil, and Australia. With a particular interest in contemporary American art song, Reimer’s research focuses on the life and work of composer Robert Owens. In 2012, she gave the world premiere of Owens’ 4 Sonnets to Eleonora Duse, composed for her voice, and performed the role of Ursula in the North American premiere of his opera Culture! Culture! in 2015.
Free and open to the public.
