This year’s topics include:
* Avoiding Tree Risks By Starting Right - Eric Berg, Nebraska Forest Service
Cultural practices are often done incorrectly and can increase development of tree risks. Learn proper tree selection, planting, staking, cultural care and pruning.
* New and Emerging Insects - Julie Van Meter, Nebraska Dept. of Ag
Learn about new and emerging insect pests and what NDA’s Entomology Program can do for commercial horticulture professionals.
* Changing Turf Recommendations - John Fech, Nebraska Extension
Learn which recommendations new research has adjusted related to turfgrass care. Go beyond one-size-fits all recommendations with high/medium/low turf care.
* What Are Weather-Ready Landscapes? - Sarah Browning, Nebraska Extension
Learn climate-change predictions for Nebraska and how these can affect plants/landscapes. Macro and micro-climates also affect the growing environment of plants. Learc practices that can be used to help make landscapes “weather-ready” and less impacted by weather extremes.
Preregistration ends March 1st.
