Dr. Siobhan Wescott, assistant director of Indians into Medicine and an Alaska Native physician-researcher at the University of North Dakota, will discuss research strategies for overcoming search difficulties for Native American Health in her presentation, “How Do You Find Research on Native Americans? Untangling the Confusing Search Terms and Identifying Gaps in the Research.”

Native Americans have more health inequities than any other race in the United States, yet the amount of health-related research on this vulnerable population is relatively small. Numerous search terms for this population—Native American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Indigenous, the name of the Tribe, etc.—make literature searches challenging.

A reception will follow her presentation.
