Seminar Series - Cassandra Gipson-Reichardt

1:30 pm–2:30 pm
Kali Patterson , (402) 472-5975,
Join us for our February Seminar Series event featuring a presentation by Cassandra Gipson-Reichardt, PhD on “Ovarian and Contraceptive Hormones Modulate Nicotine and Ethanol Consumption and Neural Mechanisms Within the Reward Pathway.” This presentation will focus upon research findings which show that ovarian and synthetic hormones have critical impacts in the neurobehavioral underpinnings of nicotine and EtOH (alcohol) use as well as the translational relevance of such findings towards clinical studies.

Gipson-Reichardt is an associate professor within the University of Kentucky’s Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences. She is an addiction neuroscientist focusing on hormonal, neuroimmune, and glutamatergic mechanisms underlying consumption of drugs including nicotine, cocaine, and opioids. The overarching goal of her translational research is to uncover novel neural mechanisms driving use of drugs which can translate to more efficacious pharmacotherapeutics to promote cessation of drug use.

This seminar is FREE and OPEN to the public. We will be live streaming and recording the talk. To register, and receive your unique connection information, click the following link:
