This workshop will be conducted by WGS major Lizzy Lavin as part of her senior UCARE Project. Lavin’s research focuses on how faculty, instructors, and staff can support student survivors of sexual violence. She will be presenting this workshop in conjunction with WGS’s “No Limits Student Research Conference” on Friday, March 11 at the Nebraska Union/Jackie Gaughan Multicultural Center.
Topics covered include:
• What IEC, commonly referred to as Title IX, expects from you as a faculty, instructor, and staff member
• The process of informing the IEC office through the student perspective
• Various sexual misconduct disclosures and the different ways students can disclose
• Supportive language and measures you can take in the classroom

At the end of this training, attendees will receive:
• A statement on CARE and the resource their office provides that they can include in a syllabus or other materials
• A packet of the training overview on responding to student disclosures as a reminder for faculty and staff
