Applications for the fellowship are due each October: The NSF GRFP is a competitive and highly prestigious fellowship for students pursuing research-based graduate degrees in the basic sciences and social sciences. Fellows receive a $37,000 stipend plus tuition for 3 years at the graduate program of their choice. Students who begin to prepare early will submit more competitive applications.

current Juniors and Seniors who plan to apply to graduate school in Fall 2023 or beyond
current first-year Graduate Students who did not apply for an NSF GRFP in fall 2022

NSF GRFP Eligibility:
US citizens and permanent residents applying to US graduate programs in any of the basic
sciences and social sciences supported by NSF (i.e. not research focused specifically on improving
human health or agriculture).
