The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Archaeological Field School will be hosting Archaeology Days at Reller Prairie Field Station. This event from the School of Global Integrative Studies is free and open to the public.
Students will participate in:
- Discovery via field walking and excavation
- Excavating faux burials for forensic work
- Reading and describing soil
- Launching darts using an atlatl (throwing stick)
- Studying the decomposition of a pig to assist forensic work
- Identifying a mystery artifact
Visitors will be able to view and help screen for artifacts and practice atlatl.
