Born in Alabama and raised in Nebraska and Iowa, Dr. Dan Bird toured the Midwest for 12 years with the seminal Omaha rock band The Jacks and recorded the classic 1985 album, In Danger. He was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 and the Nebraska Performing Arts Hall of Fame in 2020. Also an educator, Dan earned his doctorate from the University of Nebraska in Education and spent over 20 years teaching and serving as technology trainer for the largest school district in Nebraska. The author of 2 books on spirituality from Ozark Mountain Publishing, Dan resides in Omaha, NE with his Kathie. His music can be heard at danbirdmusic.com, and he actively performs with his music duo, The Bird-Mann Project.
