November Teaching and Learning Center Faculty Workshop: Teaching International Students

Date:
Time:
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Hawks Hall 241
International students enter the classroom with vastly different skills, knowledge, expectations, and ideas about classroom behavior than domestic students. How can professors help students bridge these gaps? In this workshop, you will learn three major areas in which international students and professors often struggle to connect:
• Issues in plagiarism and academic integrity
• Group work and classroom engagement
• Building trust in relationships
You will leave this workshop with a better understanding of what is holding international students back and simple tips for helping them adapt and succeed in your classroom.
